Our Story

I started R2D way back in 2015, almost 10 years ago as of the time of this writing.

It all started with a passion for model aircraft and for taking my childhood dream of miniaturizing detail from the real world in the most accurate and complete way possible and making it a reality.

3D resin printing technology has truly opened doors and allowed me to realize my dream, and to share my creations with others.

​

I am full-time artist and am blessed to be able to do this for a living.

​

R2D Studios is truly an art studio, not a factory.  Everything that I design and create is done with maximum fidelity to the real aircraft with no compromises.  In other words, I don't optimize my designs for ease of production or profit.  I design with one thing only in mind - detail.

​

Being an art studio means that you are purchasing the best possible product for the subject that you are building.  Sure, there are other products that you can source from other companies cheaper and faster.  But, I would challenge you to find a higher quality and more detailed product.  When you're trying to gain an edge in competition or satisfy your own goals and possibly save time on rework and post-processing, why compromise just to save a few bucks or receive instant gratification?

Resin aftermarket products are non-fungible.  In other words, the quality of similar products can vary widely from company to company.
